How Credits Count: Computer Science

IMPORTANT NOTE
The College of Computing is phasing out the Senior Project in Computer Science and phasing in Design Project courses. For some students, the guidelines for previous semesters may apply. Please check with your academic advisor if you are uncertain.

For Computer Science students, Fall 2013 through now:

  • 3-4 VIP credits can count as Design Project course credit. Click here to view the criteria.

  • After these 3 credits are used for Project Course credit, additional VIP credits can count as free electives.


For Computer Science students, Summer 2011 through Summer 2013:

  • 3 VIP credits can count as Senior Capstone credit (CS 4911). Click here to view the criteria.

  • After these 3 credits are used for Capstone, additional VIP credits can count as free electives.


For Computer Science students, prior to Summer 2011:

  • VIP credits acquired via CS-designated VIP courses during or before Spring 2011 may also count toward capstone credit.

  • For details, please check with the CoC Undergraduate Office.
