RSVP: Annual VIP Consortium Meeting, 2022

Georgia Tech is happy to host the 2022 VIP Consortium Meeting Thursday and Friday, May 26-27, with a workshop for prospective and early-stage sites at 3PM on Wednesday, May 25. The meeting is intended for VIP Directors and Co-Directors and representatives from prospective VIP sites. Hotel and most meals will be provided for up to two guests from each institution with guests staying at the GA Tech hotel. For US institutions, airfare will also be reimbursed with a data-sharing footnote for established VIP sites. The meeting is highly participatory with a focus on peer-to-peer exchange. We may still have room in the agenda, so participants can still suggest/request additional topics in the RSVP form below.

Details on the hotel can be found here, and details on reimbursements, local transportation, and meals can be found here.

Session Topics so Far:

  • Supporting ABET, Accreditation
  • Grad mentor development
  • Multi-Institution Teams
  • Education Research, Program Evaluation
  • Incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into VIP
  • Teaching: Student Professional Dev; Entrepreneurship
  • Consortium business meeting (more details on that to come)

We will also have “just-in-time” events where attendees can request topics and volunteer to lead or contribute to additional sessions.

Thanks so much to the new and veteran sites who’ve already volunteered to present. You all bring a wealth of skills and experience to the meetings, whether you present or not, and we can’t wait to connect!

The NSF Grant will cover two hotel nights (Wed and Thurs) for up to two participants from each institution, contingent upon participating in the data-sharing involved in the grant. We had a high data-sharing rate in 2019 and hope this will not be a burden. Those who are seeking an exception, either to number of attendees or ability to share data, should email Keyonia Holland at kholland39@gatech.edu.

Guests will need to book their hotel room with their own credit card, and then the room will be direct-billed. Guests who book rooms and do not attend will be responsible for the cost.
The NSF Grant will reimburse airfare/ground transportation for up to two participants from each institution, contingent upon participating in the data-sharing involved in the grant. Guests will need to follow policies on GT air-travel (lowest cost option; first/business class not covered unless a medical accommodation is documented; etc.) and ground transportation (particularly for those within driving distance).

Guests will need to book and pay for travel and then submit reimbursement paperwork at or immediately after the meeting.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days of the meeting, along with dinner on Thursday night. Per-diem costs were not included in the grant, so meals outside of these will need to be covered by institutions or individuals.
