BrainBoost

Goals

The goal of this VIP team is to leverage generative AI to develop educational technologies that improve the learning experience of college students. These technologies will be focused on creating more equitable learning outcomes across diverse learners.

Issues Involved or Addressed

This vertically integrated project (VIP) aims to harness the transformative potential of Generative AI to enhance educational outcomes, specifically targeting the improvement of students’ self-directed learning capabilities and the enhancement of their higher-level cognitive skills. While Generative AI offers unparalleled prospects for facilitating rapid mastery of subjects, its undiscerning application risks fostering a dependency that could stifle educational growth and hinder the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The VIP team will be dedicated to creating, implementing and testing Gen-AI tools thoughtfully designed to enrich the learning experience. By doing so, it seeks to empower students not just to consume information passively, but to engage actively with their learning processes, thereby promoting deeper understanding and the cultivation of essential autonomous learning strategies alongside cognitive advancement.
