Digital Deliberation

Goals
The team develops apps for online debates and collaborative projects that focus on problem-solving and building consensus in conflicts. Currently, we are working on a platform called GuiFi, which stands for “Guidance for Finding Solutions to Contested Problems.”
Issues Involved or Addressed
This project is motivated by the assumption that it is possible to create platforms that counter developments that threaten the foundations of democracy: increasing polarization through misinformation, conspiracy theories, and outrageous lies that promote hatred and violence and undermine trust in government, science, and other institutions. Deliberation platforms provide opportunities to train the skills and attitudes needed to engage in constructive deliberation about societal challenges.
